Taking a little break painting up some sample EPIC Imperial Guards
3x Imperial Guard Baneblade Super Heavy Tanks. Another great piece of unopened nostalgia. Have opened one so far, and it required more work than expected to be cleaned and assembled. Still nice models though. Looking forward to giving them a go.

Really a blast from the past to get hold of some unopened 1997 blisters.
A bit flashy casting here and there, but overall great!
Two stands with models from Dark Realm Miniatures (Pax Arcadia AT infantry). The left one will be a platoon of Storm Troopers and the right one will be Fire Support Platoons. Bases also from DRM.
The AT infantry pack comes with 16x infantry, 8x missile launchers, 8x HMG and 8x sergeants.
Size-wise they are a tad larger than the GW IG models, more like Space Marine size, but good proxies.
Epic Armageddon Imperial Guard infantry pack. Contains 4 of the same sheets: 24x Guard stands, 4x Ogryns, 4x Snipers and 4x Commissar models. The marking says “GW 1997”.
6x stands of Imperial Guard Rough Riders for EA. The casting looks ok, a bit bland here and there. Very nice unique unit though. Interesting is that their bases are larger than the standard EPIC infantry bases.
For Epic Armageddon Imperial Guard Steel Legion. 2x GW Basilisks and 5x Exodus Wars Guild APCs. Bit of a size comparison. Guild APCs sculpted by Otterman, and they are very nice.
A new addition
So, I just got hold of some Exodus Wars Guild APC tank samples to use as proxies. That means that I will mix in some EPIC Imperial Guard on this blog as well.
Will be very interesting to start a completely new GW project from scratch, and at the same time explore some non-GW model alternatives.
